Ali or Jordan is gonna win it all. Anderson won't even make it past Phelps.

xNate -OftheWay - I voted for him although he has no realistic chances of winning it all. He should beat Phelps though. We need to get Brazil in on this. Like, all of it. Pele would get more votes in Brazil than Silva. |

For me it was between Gretzky and Bo. Bo being an all star in two sports at the same time is sick. Gretzky has more assists than anyone else has points. He has records that will never be beaten http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=552838 Silva is great, but he doesnt deserve to be in the overall running. |

sadisticsoldier - Gretzky without a doubt. You guys ever look at the all time points leaders in the NHL? He has almost 1000 more points than the next person. More than 50% more than the next person which is Messier. This

osiriss - The comments on there had a great discussion on athlete vs player. If we are talking about athletic ability alone it's really hard to argue against Bo Jackson. He had it all at uncharted levels size, strength and speed. Who else has even come close to dominate two professional sports in the modern era like he did?He didn't have these moves though... .

Should we not be pleased that Anderson is even on the list? I don't think this would have happened 3 years ago (for any MMA competitor, not just Anderson) |

I personally think GSP should've been on the list over Anderson in terms of athletic ability. |

Bo Jackson should win on pure athletic grace, Gretzky on specific sport dominance, and Jordan in popularity. Granted this list is going to be nothing more than a popularity contest as all Online polls are, so I'm giving Jordan the edge to win it all here. Also, not a single gold medalist in the decathlon appears? Fucking really? An athlete achievement that winning makes you, "the greatest athlete on the planet" goes unrepresented? Ashton Eaton shits on everyone listed on this farce of a poll. He gets my write in vote. |

No mention of Kelly Slater makes this incomplete. If we're talking about an athelete who by far dominated their sport moreso than anyone in its history, he at least needs to be mentioned. No one comes close.

I don't think Phelp's all time most Olympic medals should be much of a factor. It's easier to do that because you have more chances. |

Phelps basically became famous because of 8 medals in a single Olympics. The other guys have been dominant for far longer in their sports. I think it will be between Jordan, Gretzkey, and maybe Bo. Side note, no Wilt the Stilt? |
