Its his decision and I understand him wanting to fight in the ufc. But as a father I would hope my son would have told Dana to go fuck himself.

As a father, I never would have put my son in such an awkward position.

As a son, I would have probably retired and began selling milk and milk related products. |

As a Jon Jones, I would want to outdo my father and then tell people about it on TV. |

As a woman in a man's body I would have kissed my son on the lips. Wait, what are we talking about again? |

No doubt DFW will throw him to the wolves. On the bright side, he has the opportunity to slay the wolves one by one and make his own legacy. |

If he can slay all the wolves, his legacy will be solidified. |

NotImpressedByYourScreenName -Please tell me you're joking? How is he making him choose between his career and his father? He offered to release him to pursue his career with his father, or to pursue it in the UFC knowing that his father only wouldn't be able to attend his fights. Either way, Ryan has a career somewhere. Maybe Randy should have considered his sons career before he signed up to work for a competing company...?dannyapodaca - Its his decision and I understand him wanting to fight in the ufc. But as a father I would hope my son would have told Dana to go fuck himself. This exactly.

Kingfanpaul -As a father, dannyapodaca - Its his decision and I understand him wanting to fight in the ufc. But as a father I would hope my son would have told Dana to go fuck himself. I would have had a deep talk with him and explained to him that wile yes his last name is Couture, his first name isn't Randy. I would have told him he's better off fighting in lesser organizations with less talented fighters where he wont get beat so bad he has permanent brain damage.

Pretty sure he's going to get tooled by Pearson anyway. His UFC tenure may not last long in the LW shark tank.

NotImpressedByYourScreenName -Randy was already under contract with Fox and the UFC actually... And lying to your current employer and screening their calls is considered a cunt move as well.GriffinQ -You just don't get it...NotImpressedByYourScreenName -Please tell me you're joking? From what I understand, Randy lied to Dana, said we'll talk after Christmas, inked a deal with Bellator & SpikeTV, and skipped out on his last contractual obligation with Zuffa. Where I come from, people who conduct business endeavors like that are not spoken of too highly. From what I understand, Bellator "matched" the Alvarez contract by promising that he'll be showcased on pay-per-view within the year. I haven't heard any news about this possible Bellator PPV, but the idea certainly has potential. I would buy it if it happens- however unlikely it may seem at the moment. If I were Ryan's father, I would certainly be excited and happy to see my son follow in my footsteps, and compete against the greatest fighters in the sport on the grandest stage for the most money he could make. It's my son's career and my son's livelihood. Two things he has his own rights to- as an athlete and as a man. Just my opinion, based on what I have heard from both parties in various interviews on the subject. Best of luck to Ryan and Randy. And Eddie Alvarez, for that matter.

NotImpressedByYourScreenName -I wouldn't bail on prior commitments with a job while entertaining other offers. I would still uphold my contract and THEN enter into the negotiating period. Why sign a contract if you have no intention of seeing it through every time a better offer comes around?GriffinQ -He had a 30 day notice period which he used, same as the UFC / Fox woulda done. Not to mention he gave Zuffa the option to match his Bellator offer and they told him to whistle.NotImpressedByYourScreenName -Randy was already under contract with Fox and the UFC actually... Randy's personal and professional life indicates that he does not believe in that. I'm not the only one saying it, and it has nothing to do with Dana's statements about him.

Well, Ryan, you have a Pearson waiting for you, who just KO'd G-Sot, so we're going to see what you're made of right off the hop. |
