I agree that this a bit unfair to put Mendes on the prelims but this is entirely because of Guida's last few fights. I really thought the UFC would've cut him despite winning his last time out.

Guida's last two fights, OK. But his 3rd last fight was against Benson Henderson and although it never aired on FOX, that was a great fight. You have ignored this user.

Zuffa is using Mendes to take Guida out. Ive heard rumors about how angry Joe silva gets if fighters put on bad performances and Ive even heard about him telling the fighters to their faces.

Guida is a marked man.

Well, i think mendes' spot on the prelims is 100% because his fight fell through.
They already have the entire Main Card set. Mendes wanted a fight and soon, all the current booked events with the exception of UFC 160: Velasquez vs Silva 2 have the main card completely filled. Plus, this fight is in San Jose, which is fairly close to where Mendes trains.

If he wins here, i honestly would not be surprised to see him fighting again in june/july.
