I would imagine the new BT sports will be available on sky, virgin, talktalk and through BT themselves. This channel is carrying premiership football, no way they keep that service exclusive. Phone Post

I did exactly the same. I always record the show after and that cut off 2mins before Wand KO'd Stann!

BT Sport getting the UFC would be good for me as I'll probably get the channels as they have the 1st pick of the televised Premier League games last year. BT could actually do well as ESPN and Setanta before them always had the least attractive package of Premier League games.

Bootsy Collins - To be fair it seemed the actual main card started 40 mins late hence why the broadcast started awkwardly in the middle of the FB prelims. Not really ESPN's fault.

No, that's not it. For some reason ESPN were airing the last hour of the Facebook prelims. You'd think they would just show them all since they can obviously get them on air.

Really? But the broadcast started at 2 am with the prelims so were ESPN showing it on a delay so??

No, it was live.

ESPN started broadcasting at 2am, an hour before the main card started (3am), hence catching the last two prelim fights. To be fair, the main card probably went a bit long which is why it overran.

I think UFC 157 also has a 2am start time (with prelims from midnight), which again sounds like they're broadcasting an hour of  the facebook prelims (since the main card actually starts at 3am). Now, this all might just be a mistake on ESPN's part in that they're starting/ending broadcasting an hour earlier than they're supposed to. I've no idea why they'd suddenly change it though. I just assumed on Saturday that they were giving us an extra hour of prelims as a nice bonus.

They usually state on the planner when they're showing prelims but its odd that they didn't this time. I watched the Mizugaki/Caraway and Fukuda/Tavares fights on facebook, if I'd known they were on ESPN, I would have preferred watching them on my HD TV and then set another additional programme to record afterwards to ensure I'd get the full main card, what with the planner being 1 hour behind.

Garry Cook more or less said they've secured a BT Vision TV deal in the Fuel TV 9 post fight presser just now.

Other then confirming we'll be getting extra UFC programming he didn't give an other specifics away. Phone Post 3.0

No real details released yet. There will be a "BT Sport" channel which will air on BT Vision (and Youview) but whether or not this channel will be resold to Sky/Virgin etc has not been announced. BT have also bought ESPN image rights and catalogue in the UK so may continue to operate at least one ESPN channel (as well as BT Sport) Phone Post 3.0

It has been announced that the BT Sports channel will be available on Sky Sports:

BT secures Sky slots for sports channels

20 November, 2012 | By Alex Farber

BT has secured two EPG slots on the Sky platform in preparation for the launch of its sports channels.

The broadcaster, which has secured rights to air FA Premier League football, international football and Aviva Premiership rugby packages, has acquired the placeholders on the pay TV platform, which it has temporarily branded as Sailing 1 and Sailing 2.

Currently in testing and yet to go live, BT will rebrand and launch the channels next year, with viewers able to dial a phone number in order to access the content.

Due to BT’s existing infrastructure it is able to manage the customer relationship directly, rather than rely on Sky to re-sell its channels.

A BT spokesman confirmed the EPG slots had been secured ahead of the launch.

“Sailing 1 and 2 are placeholders for the new BT Sport channel, which will be launching next year,” he said. “For test purposes they will be showing sailing, treasure diving and kayaking content.”

"And Scudamore’s team were able to extricate every possible penny from what were previously the least attractive match choices by the ‘game changer’ of including a total of 18 first picks in BT’s set of 38 games to be shown on the Saturday 12.45pm slot and midweek and Bank Holidays."

They will have some top flight Premier League games. This automatically makes BT Sports relevant.

So... To watch UFC you need to have either Sky or BT?

That fucking sucks for people like me who are with Virgin... Phone Post 3.0

Hope its free on sky like espn is (in ireland)

Doubt it though. This is a very bad deal. UFC should have done all they can to get on sky. Even a short term deal to show sky how much it can grow
