TheSwansBoingBoingedMyBaggies - Still gutted West Brom lost today. Steve Clarke shit himself because of the Swansea game and made 6 changes which was a bad idea. Stoke were completely fucking rubbish though, we seemed to spend almost all of the 2nd half in their end trying to score but we just couldnt quite put the finishing touches together then we practically gifted them a goal towards the end of the game thanks to our championship level 2nd keeper. Stoke didnt deserve a draw, let alone a win.

It looks like our run at the top end of the table is over now though. Couldve and shouldve taken 3pts today and been in third place, instead we've dropped to fifth and I dont see us racking up the points in our next few fixtures either.

Was fun while it lasted :( Phone Post
Chin up mate. You've just come of winning four in a row and before that you lost two in a row against Man city and Newcastle. So head up an this could just be another blip and I really hope it is because I'm loving West Brom this season. I'm rooting for them to get a European place Phone Post

Dunno, hes a good manager. Managers have been sacked from similiar sized clubs while the team has performed better than Arsenal currently are though *cough RDM cough*

Something impressive needs to be done in the transfer window to rescue Arsenals season I think. At this rate I dont think they're guaranteed a top 4 finish at all, maybe not even top 6.

Hasn't put a foot wrong so far, hes marshalled the defence brilliantly since he's arrived. He's a calming influence, always talking, good in the air, reads the game well. Keeps the ball on the ground and has good distribution... Very solid. We've picked up 9 points out of 9 against top opposition since Tate and Jerome Thomas arrived at the club, we'd have struggled to pick up a point if not for them.

While he's been a great manager, wouldnt be surprised at this point if this is his last season. But I have no idea who they could get as a replacement that could do as well as Wenger. It is a short list and most all of them probably wouldn't be comfortable working under arsenals financial constraints. They need to stop acting like they can compete the way they want and horde cash. Not saying they should go spend crazy and rack up debt, but there has to be some middle ground. Phone Post

One thing with Arsenal, is that they do spend an awful lot on wages. I think they have the 4th highest bill behind city, Chelsea & United. So they should be in 4th place really, as wages and finishing position are very very highly correlated(89% according to the link that is appearing in a moment). So currently they are piss poor, but overall Wenger has been phenomenal

There's a lot of maths in there under the bonnet(hood), but it's fascinating really. It's an article talking about the two main systems in use. The wages one, and the transfer one. Explains everything in the article. From Premier League era only, this is the final table of how people(who managed at least 38 games) performed compared to what they should have done.

All time(well, since 1973) and on the wages model, not TPI, then Fergie is 2nd behind Bob Paisley

Well worth a look
