Royce, I noticed that your ears didn't looked mangled like renzos and ralphs during your induction. After rolling on the ground for so many years how did you manage to preserve them? Thanks. |

Technique! I have been training in Jiu-Jitsu for 10 years, and my ears are good too. Royce did teach me how to train and keep my ears! Thanks Royce DAve Gomez |

Well, for example: While blocking a choke, cup your hand over your ears while you protect your neck. This keeps pressure off your ears and supports your hand to help block the choke. The idea is to use technique and know what your opponent wants or the possibility of getting, then defend. If you use the techniques that Royce teaches, your ears should be fine. Also, if your ears do swell, wear ear guards for at least three weeks, even if the swelling goes down. Then take them off! Dave |

Ty for the compliment Dave. I wish I had trained smarter when I was younger..It is not only your ears that pay for ignorant training.....(*pops another vicodin)..Besides, my technique would be way better had I not tried to rely on my physical prowess.. |

Q, True, when we first met, you brought a lot of power to the mat! But that was a long time ago. Now, you have very good technique. You have done a good job, you should be proud of your advancement in the area of MMA and submission grappling. Dave |

I use tape and then earguards over them...they never hurt with this technique...I am an aggresuve fighter and hrt them in double leg shots, guard pass...but the tape works really well. |

Is the technique designed just to protect your ears ??? Is this realistic for the street or cage ? |
