If you are flying you really need to drink a lot of water because flying usually makes you hold a bit of water. The Albolene shouldn't be that hard to find. what day is your fight. |

They have it at Wal-Mart, Walgreens or any other pharmacy or groery store. It is in the women's cosmetics section. By the hand lotions, vaseline and makeup removers. It is like $1.00 for a small jar. If you had more time you could order it from a boxing supply website. |

Chris, I am in montreal, I arrived last night and weighed myself on their scale.... 167 on theirs!! So I upped my water, and had to cut my intake at 1pm today since the weigh ins are 1pm tomorrow, NOT at night (which is cool in a way since I get about 32 hours to replenish). Right now Im 162, I feel a bit dry and havent done one cutting session yet... Im gonna do one tonight then tomorrow morn if needed... peace. |

Any Albolene? Congrats man. Glad it all worked out for ya. Now be careful putting it back on. Don't guzzle all the liquids down to fast right off the bat or you will have a stomach ache like no other. |

Chris, if you had all the time in the world to cut say 15 pounds, and weighed in about 12:00 the day of the fight, how would you aproach the weight loss? and would you still try to dehydrate if you fought say 9 hours or so after weighing in? |

I would diet most of it off but I would still cut about 6 pounds. 9 hours is still a decent amount of time to put 6 pounds back on easily. Don't bloat yourself like you normally would though because you may not get rid of it before the fight. |

Like after you cut water if you just pound the water back in you will feel sick and bloated in the stomach. It is ok if the weigh-ins are the day before becasue it will go away but if they are the same day you really don't wanna do that. |

How do you not have time to do the stuff you need ot do? If you are just going to not drink water, make sure you drink a ton before you stop drinking. |

hey chris... unfortuneatly I lost by TKO with about 2 minutes left in the fight (3rd round)... I felt tired about 3 minutes into the actual fight, which was odd for me, could have been a variety of things I suppose. I fought a good guy, and I'm actually happier about how I performed in this loss than I have most of my wins. I went for a bunch of things so I dont regret it. Thanks for the help, much appreciated. Do you think it had to do with cutting weight? If that is the case sorry about that. That shouldn't be the problem if you put it back on. DO you know what you weighed in at come fight time? |

ha, no need to apologize, I'm not sure it had to do with cutting the weight. I weighed 164 or so at fight time. Live and learn I suppose, I almost ended the fight on a couple occassions with a standing kimura, also with some big shots in the second. I'll be back in a few months once I fix up certain aspects of my training/nutrition. Thanks again. C |

Chris. You said that you didn't know how to cut weight when you fought Pat. My question is...where do you learn all of these tips and tricks? From other fighters? From experimenting? Thanks. |
