Ha! Here is one neandertal that has found the Vermont forum. Very cool! TTT for Catamount and LaClair building the grappling scene here (and anyone else who welcomes all)! |

Well, it's been yet another year....... Guess nobody from Vermont posts in here much. And now I've moved to Pennsylvania, planning to open up a new school across the border in New York later this year. But I'll keep doing my annual check to see if Vermont's "happening" or not (probably never will, but we'll keep hoping), LOL! |

Hey Tom! I am moving home to Ludlow/Plymouth Vermont area and I am trying to find a place to train in that area... if there are any. Do you know of any or have any suggestions? Cheers, Steph |

The places to train are in the burlington area, and I think Tom Murphy still has a school in St. Albans. I'm always looking to train and i work in central vermont if you have a location in mind. I used to be a coach for Kenny Florian and Sityodtong, so i've been in the game for a while. Also, if anyone is going to the burlington Brawl in October, i always go with a crew, and it would be cool for others to join in. -doug- |

Stephany - I'm not Tom, I'm "Adam." :-) There are actually places sprouting up all over the state, now. Tom Murphy has Rail City MMA up in St. Albans, Julio Fernandez has a large group (with a coupel satellite schools) in the greater Burlington area, and I've heard of another group - I believe they are called the "Green Mountain Boys" or something like that, based out of Rutland. There are also some "traditional" schools that are dabbling more and more with MMA, although to the best of my knowledge, the only LEGIT schools/groups for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are Julio Fernandez' school (whom Tom Murphy is affiliated with), the University of Vermont BJJ club, and my own guys/gals up in the northeast corner of the state. Although I have moved to BInghamton, New York, there are still a few of my "veteran" competition team hanging around and training in Lyndonville. Lyndon State College now has a Jiu Jitsu club that is being run by my students (John Shanks and Myles Hacking), and Aaron Fondry is always looking for training partners for grappling/MMA. Shoot me an email for contact information for any of the Lyndonville area folks. Adam LaClair |

Any active Vermont members left? Nick here. Training out of WRJ. We have a group of about 8, training muay thai and a little sub wrestling. 3 of us are active amateur fighters. (B Brawl, Muay thai mayhem). Anyone...anyone??? |
