Just curious. Training here sucks a bit although Nw Judo/Bjj is cool. Might go back im just not that intrested in training like that at 48. I want to do some Boxing/No gi but with restraint. Ive done the TMA thing and have a couple of Blackbelts and done some Gi Bjj and had 5 years of Judo but im looking to train fairly hard but dont want to do either TMA or travel to Gresham or Portland. ANY mother fucking BODY???? |

Salem, huh..... there is a BJJ/Judo school run by a Rickson Rep, Craig Bell in Gervais. Or you can always travel down to Eugene, a few good schools there Megaton/Dogg pound. If your interested in gi/no-gi try the school in Corvallis. |

Ya Craig Bell is Nw Judo/JJ and is good. I used to do akea and hits but there gone now. If i was going to go out of town i would go the 45 miles to Gresham and work out with Team Quest, 55 and go to SBG with Matt Thorton. |

I did AKEA several years ago when there were on Lancaster Dr. and followed Mr. Yearger when he moved to Dallas. I had gone back a few times when it became HITS and did Thia boxing and Bjj under Pedro Sauer. Salem is the Arm pit (well if you dont include Albany). If it were not for my one hippy haven aka "The coffee house cafe" i would fucking die. (did that sound a little too gay??)..What was your husbands name and where did he work out at? |

His name is Gary. He was at the AKEA on Lancaster and stayed when Fox took over. He became an instructor there. After I started at SBG in Keizer and then he left the AKEA and came to SBG. When the Keizer gym closed we were in the same boat as you. Our answer was to move to Portland! Now we both train at SBG and he instructs there. Anyways I know your dilema. I know one girl who travels from Salem to train but I know I wanted want to have to do that. |

Joey: Sounds good. Gary? What did he look like? I liked Mr. Fox. He was good. We had fun sparring a lot. Portland would offer a lot of choices but if i had my way id move to the Huntington Beach Cali area. |

Well i know Mr. Yearger closed the Salem school not long after he left for Dallas. I think there was some mis management but it wasnt my buisness. He was very good and i loved sparring him so i hope he is still doing it. The blending of Escrima and some Kenpo was a good system for the time. I know Mr. Yearger has evolved more into a MMA type of teacher though. |

Sounds good. I have a 15 year old is he old enough to train? Also i'll be 50 in a few days and while i dont look (or act) like 50 and have been around various arts for many years i dont need to get smoked. I leave my Blackbelts and ego at the door so im just there to work out and try to get back in some reasonable type of shape. Its been a whiiiile. It sounds like a cool place to train though. What days and hours? What is the cost? Thanks John Christian Salem Oregon |

Team Chaos puts out some good fighters (i've seen Pete Aspinwall in some great fights)....if i still lived in Salem (McNary High grad) i'd likely train there. I live near woodburn and work in portland though |
