i hate PS CS or PS and lower versions cos it doesn't preview the font like MS WORD or MS EXCEL. go to the fonts thread here in this forum and search for karate or chinese takeaway. those are 2 that come to mind. HTH. edit: also chow fun. |

Photoshop just uses the fonts you have installed on your computer. To preview fonts in photoshop do this: Start some text on a document and type a word or some letters. Select the text so that it is highlighted. Then click the font pull down on the menu, the current font will be highlighted when done correctly. Now use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the fonts you have installed on your system. The text you typed will now change as you scroll through the fonts giving you a preview. If memory serves me well this only works on a PC. |

attjack, it does work on a pc, i end up doing that. but in excel or word, when you go to choose your font, you will see the font name in that font type, so it's a preview of sorts. one work-around is to type up sample text in word and save it for reference or use the method you outlined above. |

I highly recommend a font manager program, this is the one i use, it's freeware and works great. The Font Thing A font manager allows you easy preview of your fonts, installed or not. It allows you to make preset groups and install/uninstall them as needed. This is necessary since having a huge number of installed fonts will slow down windows, much better to load and unload fonts as needed per project. Keeping your core set of favourite fonts installed of course. |
