Joe Gutowski's Family Kenpo Center in Buffalo (technically Orchard Park, but no one knows where that is). BJJ and kenpo, not really MMA. Joe is really knowledgeable with BJJ, though. |

My friend's wife just started training MMA in LI also. I know one of her lessons is given by Ray Longo (sp?) but don't know which gym it's called. As soon as I get the info, I will post it. I thought the Serra's train MMA in their academy now but I could've been thinking about another club. Either way, I will update here. |

robf- It's called Ray Longo's Int'l Martial Arts, in Mineola. I think he said primarily boxing and MT. lkfmdc- Nice site/club. That San Shou looks awesome. Is that the same art that Cung Le practices. Saw a couple of his fights c/o ESPN. |

San Shou/San Da (ie with knees), yep, same art Cung does, we are pretty good friends with Cung and his team. We have two gyms, one on 24th street and mine on 37th street. First class is free so you could try us out if you wanted |

you can take a free class, which is a better way to get an idea if you are interested in the program. Next week, there are San Shou classes Monday at 7:15 and Tuesday at 6, then we get into the Holiday thing.... Feel free to call us 212 239 8619 |

Holy shit, ray longo is still around mineola? I used to train at his place when it was also half a kenpo school. He himself is a nice guy, but I have no idea what the place would be like anymore, as I was there in 1993. If you watch "kickboxing" on espn2 or I think fox sports on cable, he sometimes has fighters that I think he trains or manages with Lou neglia, to see what kind of guys he produces. |

I live in Walden, it's right near Montgomery and Maybrook. I didn't know there was anyplace to train in Newburgh. I know once I saw an advertisement in the Times Herald Record for BJJ classes being offered by the New Windsor recreational department. But you had to be a New Windsor resident to attend so I couldn't. |
