Ron Kieltyka - Brooklyn, CT (Megaton Diaz purple belt). Strikezone, New London - mostly a wrestling/boxing based gym with some VERY tough guys that are getting scary with their submissions. I am hoping to get training again and get my butt down there to roll with those guys. Where is the Norwich school? Fabio and Roger Denton in Derby have a killer school, they are affiliated with Renzo. I am trying to think of any other CT schools that compete in NAGA that have not already been mentioned, if any come up I will post them....Joe |

jkkazmier: Yes I sub-lease space from the dance studio. Our schedule rotates because of my job. Im with what is known as the Protective Servicse Division of CSP. Law enforcement hours suck if you are training for anything. Most of my guys/gals adapt quick to my crazy schedule. Stop by anytime, however give me a call to make sure we are there. |

rickt - that's awesome - i live less than a mile away. My boy Ted Govola is fighting soon and maybe we will come down to get some extra rolling time in. Ted also lives in wethersfield. I will talk with him and then give you a call. How many guys you got there? |

jkkazmier: Im flatered that you guys would want to stop by my humble place. We work only with the Gi. You will find a bunch of good white belts, and yours truly. A blue belt old enough to be your dad with a VERY sore left toe. From what I know, and have seen about Ted Govola (and you) you guys are high rated competitors at a much higher level than any of us.We've only been in excistance for just over a year. U R WELCOME ! |

I'm thinking of attending law school at Quinnipiac but don't know anything about CT. Is there a school within easy driving distance? Believe it or not, this is actually a major factor in my decision on where to go. |

Andrew Calandrelli is in New Haven/North Haven, should be real close for you. He was a purple under Renzo, might be higher now. Classes are more geared towards no-gi and MMA training (but there are Gi classes), a couple of his guys have fought some MMA fights in Boston and one in Brazil. I haven't trained there in a couple months but I know we used to have a D3 nat'l wrestling champ (and current college asst coach) come down and work with us some weekends (also fights mma) and have a couple guys who have fought some pro boxing matches come work out, one of them every weekend (possibly more now). You only put on gloves and bang if you want, no pressure. If anyone's interested shoot me an email and I'll get you his contact info. (scipio.mj@gmail.com) |
