I've not been to a lot, but I liked watching ZZ Top at Memphis in May a few years ago. Around 200,000 people. We were high and drunk. The stage didn't have a back to it...you could see the sky behind them. It started storming and lightning was flashing. I think 6-10 people died that night in tornadoes. It was sweet seeing their beards standing horizontal in the wind with sweet music, lightning, and bud and bud. |

IIRC, either The Bloodhound Gang at a small venue in Austin 1994 or Pink Floyd 1993 at Rice Stadium in Houston. |

Rolamos, Jane's is one of my favorite bands of all time. I saw them once, but it wasn't in their hayday, the sound sucked, the crowd sucked, and they only played for about 40 minutes. I've seen Perry a bunch at festivals recently, jumping on stage with Hybrid and Theivery Corporation. Where did you see them at and in what year? Have you seen the DVD "Three Days"? Fucking awesome. |

franz ferdinand in austin, at either the backyard, or stubb's, i can't remember which. i don't even like the band, but those guys had so much energy and enthusiasm i remembered what was good about live music in the first palce. i can't blame the bands, really, 'cause it gets hot here and most tours are booked for the summer months, but i've seen about 10,000 bands too many that are just going through the motions, marking time and waiting for the moment they can get off stage. |

I saw Derek Trucks play at this tiny now-closed SLC bar. For the first 1/3 of the concert former Metallica bassist Jason Newstead and his girlfriend sat at my table. He was a pretty chill guy. After the concert I stood around on the sidewalk outside the club and talked to Derek for about 20 minutes. |

Jack Johnson, Summer '05. It was outside on a perfect night and there were drunk girls ALL OVER THE PLACE. The music was outstanding as well. |
