" socal, HB to be to exact. they just closed one race track (palmdale) and the only other independent track is at irwindale which is 1/8 mile. of course the NHRA drag strip at the pomona fairplex is an awesome setup and i've been going every year for the winternationals and finals for 20+ years, but since it is owned by the nhra they won't allow any other organizations to run there, EVER. on top of that, they rarely have open race nights, over the last 10-15 years they completely quashed most dragstrip sites so they can have a monopoly on drag racing. its pretty fucking sad considering socal used to be one of the hotbeds of drag racing. |
