My girlfriend is being sued by atlas collections for an unpaid medical bill. She recieved a summons for court. She currently is unemployed due to she is moving to florida. Does she have to appear in court? she obviously does not have the entire balance but is willing to make payments. What are the legal ramifications if she does not appear? Thanks |

She could have a default judgement entered against her. If she's willing to make payments, have her contact the company and work out a schedule. |

No stephen we are getting engaged. Her credit will be the first issue we fix. She basically was rushed to the hospital for a medical condition that was out of her hands and at the time was a college student with out medical insurance. Yes she is willing to make payments, but of course that is lower on the heirachy of bills to be paid. |
