Dusty said a lot of weird things in the past but this is defenitely one of the best: After failing to get down a bunt on three pitches, Encarnacion rocketed one into the left field seats for a three-run, walkoff home run. "You can't let him swing in that situation," Baker said. "He was struggling. I told (coach Chris Speier), 'I kind of hope he doesn't get it down so (he) can hit a three-run homer, and he hit a three-run homer." "Being on the other side, he was one of the guys I didn't want to see up there in that situation," Baker said. "He's a clutch man." |

i seriously belive that he doesn't know himself what he talks about. so, he gives him the bunt sign and hopes he misses. |

Down a run in the 9th, one out, runners at first and second. At the plate for the Reds, a guy who's hit 40+ HR in each of the last 4 seasons and has a career OPS of around .900 (Adam Dunn). And what does Dusty, in all his infinite toothpick-and-wristband glory, call? A fucking SACRIFICE BUNT???? YOU SEND ADAM DUNN UP TO SACRIFICE BUNT?!?!?!?! Lucky for the Reds, Dunn failed on his first two attempts,and ended up hitting a two-strike bomb. However, the fact remains that Dusty Baker is my choice for worst current manager in the bigs. |

i think it was no out, but still, dunn hit 7th in this game. dusty is an idiot. i hated him since he let livan hernandez pitch in the world series against the angels instead of rueter. i have no idea how that dumb ass got an other managing job. but i guess that just shows that there are a lot of dumb people in the baseball business and for me as an a's fan, i'm quite happy about it. |
