Yes, many of you will laugh at me, but freakin love eating the Japanese hibachi-style chicken with rice and vegetables (which is grossly over-priced). Most of the recipes I've found are horribly wrong ("it's just rice with soy sauce!"....um, no). Is it basically a teriyaki sauce or simply soy sauce with sugar? |

or, are you talking about a grilled chicken rice bowl, like at "yoshinoya" or "panda express"?

Thanks for the links. No, are you familiar with the hibachi grills? It's basically a show around a flat grill. The food isn't anything special, I just like the sauce that goes on the fried rice. All the recipes are saying that it's soy sauce but that isn't all. |

flat grill could be a teppan grill, cooking style would be teppanyaki, often with a showboating, chef, ala Benihana
they will often use a yakiniku sauce, kinda like a bbq marinade for beef and chicken, i wonder if if is that |

Yep, you're right. Your links for the yakiniku recipe look like they may yield the right taste. I have yet to try it. Thanks! |
