I finally played my first 9 holes. Sucked for the most part, but on the last hole, I drove that little white ball and got it on the green dance floor for the first time. It gave me wood and now I'm ready to buy a set of clubs.Recommend me a quality set of clubs that are ideal for a beginner. Many people tell me to buy used, but I want my first babies to be new. Looking to spend about $200. Is Wilson pretty good?Any advice is much appreciated by this golf noob, thanks in advance. |

I recommend you go speak to a PGA pro instead of people on the small golf forum on an MMA website (Seriously) |

I hear you Killer, but I want to look like I have an idea of what I am talking about before I have a salesman sell me some expensive ass clubs. And as far as length goes, how long should those bad boys be? I am 6 ft. Thanks, I really appreciate the help. |

6ft tall is most likely standard length. Again, don't see a salesman. See a PGA professional (most golf shops have one on staff) I'm not saying this to be a dick or some golf elitist but it's really the best advice I have for you. Go to a big golf store in your area (Golf Galaxy)...they will have a PGA pro on staff. |

Nice, props for the advice. How long have you all been playing? I'm barely starting at 31. I was invited to a tourney once with great clients and I had to pass it up. I don't want to let an opportunity pass me up like that again. |

I've played off and on for 20 years or so. Again, without seeing your swing, I can't make a club recommendation. That is why I'm saying, if you really want to get into golf, a PGA pro should be your first stop. |

I'm going to go with Wilson, I keep hearing they are a great beginner set. I hear Costco has some great deals, any good warehouses here in SoCAL? |

Any big golf store (Golf Galaxy, etc.) should be starting its big sale right around now. |

Yes, finally went and got my clubs. There is a big golf warehouse here in Seal Beach called Roger Dunn. Got myself the Nike Ignite's set of irons. 3 hybrid all the way to a 9. I also got their putter, but I still need to buy my drivers. Damn this sport, I went in there only planning to spend $300, and I ended up dropping $600. Fuck it, I'm damn happy with my new sticks. Now, it's time to master this new addiction on mine. |

My brother just started playing last year and I got him that same set. Good beginner set. Go buy a used driver for now. You'll scuff the fuck out of it while you're learning and it's just retarded to ruin a $500 club. |

Yes it is, the staffer at RD said it was a very forgiving set. Went on the course three times with them so far and I love them. Only thing that sucks is that the set doesn't come with a sand wedge. What do you recommend for a good driver to start off with? I will definitely go used. |

Taylormade and Callaway make excellent drivers. Drivers are a club you need to hit to find one for you. Different shaft/head combos work for different people. Once you're a single digit handicap, you're retarded if you don't get fitted for driver on a launch monitor. |

Mine came with a pitching wedge. It's a great set, hit two rounds in an 18 hole golf course in Glendale and I still couldn't get enough. |
