Could be but they really aren't a back either. They are more of a link between the forwards and backs. |

Of course they are a bloody back. The 'half' doesnt infer they are somehow less of a back. You have two half-backs - Scrum-half, fly-half Two thee quarter backs - Wings One full back - Fullback. They are a back whose main role is to distribute the ball to the fly half. |

LordSeano - Of course they are a bloody back. you missed out the centers, which are also 3/4 backs. Summary Rugby is a game of 15 players 8 forwards - the pack 7 backs - not in the pack (scrum half is one of these) |
