I am not a California lawyer. Nor am I a family law lawyer. So I may be about to aska dumb question. I represent a pension plan. A participant in this plan is getting divorced, and the court will be entering a QDRO (which is a couurt order providing for the division of assets held in the plan attributable to the participant's interest). This has not happened yet. I have received a "Notice of Appearance and Response", which is asking me to enter pleadings to the court as the plan. I've dealt with QDROs for years, and have never heard of such a thing. However, the counsel who sent it to me claims that it's the way it's always done. I think he's nuts (and he appears to think the same of me). Anyone ever hear of this? |
