LEO >> NTOA SWAT Standards ?

I stumbled into this area and noticed some SWAT guys talking. Any of you familiar with NTOA's recommendations; specifically, minimum team size of (I believe) 18 members? I know that for the past few years they've been trying to pressure small teams into partnering with a neighboring team or regionalizing. Any teams affected? |

It's been a while but I reviewed the material prior to its submission and I believe you are correct. The emphasis was on a team being self sufficient during a critical incident, for the duration of the call-out. It was not suggesting that smaller teams could not exist, however recommended combining efforts, training, and ensuring that everyone was on the same page for this coordinated response. I do recall that this created some stir amongst the smaller teams. |
