US Grappling will host our first Submission Only tournament in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday, February 13th, 2010 at the Supergoose Sports Facility. This venue is very convenient to I-95 and I-16. Saturday weigh ins will be held from 8 AM to 10 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night (more info coming). Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins. First matches will begin at 11 AM. There is a cash prize of $500 for the no-gi advanced absolute (open weight) winner. Check out our Submission Only rules here: Submission Only Rules | US Grappling ![]() Note: This event is for adults only. Teens may compete with permission of their parents and coaches. SisterSteel - Just wanted to say that this was a great tourney and one of the best organized events I have been to. Thanks again. Too bad mother nature was not on our side. Thanks!! You can see the full results now at: http://www.usgrappling.us/events/submission-only-vii/ Huge congratulations to Ian Macpherson, a really nice kid and a phenomenal grappler, for winning the advanced absolute. We also had a new record for the fastest submission recorded at a Sub Only tournament: a five second flying armbar! |
