I know in wrestling there alot of techniques you can use for takedown defense, like the sprawl. What about in judo? What do judo fighters use for takedown defense?

hip blocking, grip fighting, and foot techniques for front throws. hip blocking and foot techniques,and counters for rear throws. Effective use of offense for evey throw.

Keep moving, grip first, control head, stance, stiff arm ( just to block/slow entry)...

Depends on the throw. But as gbutts mentioned on forward throws I block the hip. I twist my hip into theirs just enough to block the throw.

They change the rules to eliminate all techniques that look like wrestling like kataguruma or moretegari or any we you directly grab the leg.
