Many of you americans cannot fathom the ability of top soccer players. To embarrass Dana on a soccer pitch, you would not need anywhere even close to a professional player. The difference between someone like Dana and some random guy who works in an office in England and played football since he was a kid and now plays in a sunday league pub team is HUGE. I could pick a group of guys that work in my office who have never even come close to playing professional that would be better than Dana if he stopped everything in his life right now and spent the next 5 years dedicating himself to being a soccer player. Fair play to Dana if he actually goes through with this, but dont expect him to be able to do anything during a the game. Think of it like bjj. A guy training bjj for a couple of months can tool a guy who has never trained before, but there is an enormous gap in skill between a 3 month white belt and a a black belt, and then another gap between a top competition black belt. If soccer had a grading system whitebelts would be enough to make a fool of Dana. |

Well, obviously... I'm sure that Dana could take any group of UFC fighters that never competed in soccer, give them former-champ-Brock-Lesnar-time to prepare for a new sport (2 years), and I'd could pick a group of buddies and smash them in a soccer match. |

They need someone who played academy level at a young age they sacked it off, so he seems like your normal guy but could've been a professional, like a lot of iranian wrestlers trained a bit when they were young then left it, so they're really technical but unassuming. They should have him try and get past the defender and finish, looking at dana no way in hell that dude has any acceleration, make him sprint till he throws up, should take about 2 mins. |

The more you practice something the better you become at it. Soccer, MMA, Dancing, or Pooping. If you spend 8 hours a day doing something then you will be leagues above other people who don't. Why is there a thread on this. That's a lesson I learned in kindergarten. |

I'd say an above average high school player would be able to embarass him without even breaking a sweat |

"Why is there a thread on this. That's a lesson I learned in kindergarten." Perhaps you missed Dana's comments and the comments of many posters on this board about how untalented soccer players are? |

No soccer player will be able to embarrass Dana, because he takes absolutely no pride in his ability to play soccer. He simply doesn't care about the sport. |

You need a soccer player to embarrass Dana? Thought he's been doing a good job of that all by himself lately. |

Its not a matter of the level of soccer player needed. It is a matter of no one caring about soccer and being able to name one player other then david beckham. |

the difference between me and the average person who doesnt play soccer is pretty big. the difference between me and a couple of friends who play all the time just for fun is big (they are far better than I) the difference between those friends and some other friends in the competitive rec league who suck is big (the guys who suck in the rec league are far better) the difference between the worst in the rec league and the best is HUGE. I mean huge. the difference between the best in the rec league and the guys on DC United (im using DC united because a few on the rec league applied and almost made the team) is big. im referring to the avg DC united guy. The diff between the avg dc united guy and the best is pretty big. the diff between the best on DC United and best in the prem leagues is relatively big. so basically... Dana probably being an average guy I feel I could beat at soccer... would get smashed. and I think soccer takes some of the most skill of any sport there is... as per the timing and coordination needed. Its nuts. |

The Hacks Murderer - A small ball was kicked into a large net!!! How embarrassing!!! GAY. <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/> What an incredibly stupid comment. You could make a similar analogy about any sport you dont like. Its seems like many americans turn into stereotypical dumb rednecks when soccer is brought up. The lack of understanding and ignorance about the most popular sport on the planet is pretty crazy. An slien arriving on the planet for the first time would have a better understanding of soccer than some of the clowns on this forum. Caligulus has illustrated it perfectly. |
