Check it out, refinished my 94y.o 1911. It had a parkerized finish that had been FUBARED so I stripped it a few years ago.....I think with naval jelly. I didn't want a polished finish and like the beatup look so I didn't sand, beadblast or anything. Layed on couple coats of Brownell's Oxpho-Blue and buffed with "0" steel wool......WHOLEY CHIT came out pretty damn black! Seems pretty tough compared to shitty cold bluing from other manufacturers and this stuff has a good reputation so I'm pretty happy. I tried to wear it by aggressively rubbing an area of the slide with cordura and couldn't make a mark. I'm hoping the rough finish will hold the bluing decently. Anyway, hope you ROMOS likey! Before...  After...  Assembled with original parts.....Kinda cool looking in a ghetto sorta way :p  My neck/shoulder is feeling better than it has in over a month so I'mm gonna go shoot this bitch this weekend, I think the extractor needs a little more tension though.....we'll see. |

On a good note.....shoulder can actually draw pretty well from that holster now. YEA! cause I hate the serpa holster, lock is too tight for the caspian frame of one of my 1911s |
