If a company purchases land that was used for hazardous waste and they fail to clean it up properly, does the accountant of the company have any responsibility? Just a given scenario asked. In my opinion accountants are like the central nervous system of the brain but not don't make the creative decisions be it "good" or "bad". I would think they would have zero responsibility. |

My wife is an accountant. I'll ask tonight. I know the accountant can be held liable for any financial crimes the company commits, but not sure about the other stuff. |
