Part of the problem (which is greatly being displayed here) is that atheists often want to resort to false dichotomy that one is either an atheist or some sort of absurd religious zealot. There are many shades of grey in between, and extremists on both sides are incredibly obnoxious. |

I always lol when the religious smear atheism by calling it, or comparing it to, a religion. Atheism is not on the religious scale buddy. It's not a "shade of grey". Why get so angry when you make a claim and someone else asks for evidence supporting your claim? |

Funny, you do the exact same thing as atheists do, everyday. Except not on the topic of religion. - When you buddy claims he banged a super hot chick. You ask for proof (in the form of pics obv). - When someone wants to build a bridge, you demand qualified and regulated engineers who can prove they can build a bridge that won't collapse when you drive you car over it. - When some nut claims the world is going to end on December 21, 2012, you don't instantly accept his claim, you wait and and collect evidence - that is, wake up on the 22nd. People make claims all the time. And all the time you demand supporting arguments or proof instead of blindly accepting the claim. Except when it comes to your particular religion. It's not your fault. No adult rationally accepts a new religion they are unfamiliar with. That's why EVERY. SINGLE. SUCCESSFUL. RELIGION. MAKES. SURE. THEY. GET. TO. THE. KIDS. Before they develop proper critical thinking skills and while they still just want to please the adults around them. |
