There is a difference between posting a link/reporting news and calling the president of the UFC a "lying scum bag". |

How does the invictica? whatever it's called contracts work? Can the UFC just poach talent from that organization? I doubt it, without paying some amount of money. Why would they offer a fighter a contract when she is already in another organization. I could be wrong but someone should know. |

Dana could pull the strings of Invicta rather easily... |

Dana said that no one wanted to fight Rousey, yet Miesha and Sara both were never even offered the fight apparently. Who the hell did they offer the fight? |

I find it odd people still believe Dana. Like these women would publicly call their boss out for fun. |

Sara McMann is a tough fight against a person who is not very well known. Understandably they'd want to build up that fight but main eventing Rousey vs Carmouche is BS. That's a gimme fight that should be on a fight night card. |

I imagine they would want to build up Sara a bit like Ronda and have an olympian vs olympian down the road?

Snayke13 - I imagine they would want to build up Sara a bit like Ronda and have an olympian vs olympian down the road? Probably, she never even fought for SF, she also said she would like another fight or two before fighting Ronda. |

It is smart business to leave a couple of name draws for after they have introduced Rhonda and ladies MMA to the UFC, and allowed the hype maching to go to work, but main eventing this is a bad decision which I think they will change their mind on before the event. You heard it here first! Will not be main event! |

sgotwalks - Why would it be a bad decision? They are gonna stack the card, Ronda is gonna get huge press before this fight, this card will do decent buys. Lets stop pretending if they did Hendo/Machida thats some blockbuster fight thats gonna draw in 500k buys if its the main event. |

Just so you know UFC 139 which had Hendo vs Shogun, under 300k. http://mma.sbnation.com/2011/11/25/2586743/ufc-139-early-pay-per-view-buyrate-270000 I'll bet Ronda beats that, beats out 2 HOF Legends. |

But McMann says she doesn't want a title fight just yet. She's not quite a year and a half into her pro career, and she's just beginning to square off against top fighters, with her victory over Shayna Baszler at Invicta 2 on July 28 the biggest feather in her cap so far. She'd like to get more experience before being thrown into a title fight. "I know it sounds kinda strange, but once you are the titleholder, the only fights you get are people who are marketable fights for title contention," said McMann. "But if you're not the No. 1 girl you can fight everybody, so I kind of hope I get more fights before I have the title, because otherwise I'll be a little bit more limited. |

Dana wants Ronda to have an easy first fight. He doesn't want to go into WMMA to have his baby lose her first fight |

If you read my post above it shows how Sara said that she didn't even want a title fight right now. How can you say that, but then complain when the title shot goes to someone else. I say quit your bitchin. |

Chris27 -sgotwalks - It is a piss poor decision because, let's face it, come fight night all of the anticipation will be going towards Hendo and Machida.........I know I will be fully ampted for that one, and when it is over and we are getting ready to watch Rhonda in the main event it will be like the wind is fully removed from the sails. First of all, who is she fighting? Can we hope the fight even goes to a second round? Early armbar victory is likely and who honestly is going to be sitting on pins and needles waiting for that? It is a bad idea. It will be like sitting around to watch the replays they show from the preliminaries after the main event is over. That's what it will be like. I like Rhonda, and I am looking forward to her big matchups in the coming months, but this is not one of them. This is not main event worthy in the least. |

I am surprised that others are surprised at Dana's actions. Ronda is Dana's new golden goose, he will not let anybody get close to beating her, hence lying about liz being third choice and others turning down the fight. I don't agree with this being the ppv headline either.

fapout -Kingfanpaul - “I didn’t know McMann had been calling her out and saying that Ronda was ducking her. I made some phone calls with people and people were like, ‘Eh, I’d like to get a fight under my belt before I take that one’. I deal in the behind-the-scenes everyday, and what people say publicly and what they say behind-the-scenes are two different things.” Dana's comments seem to go along with the comments Sara made in the interview I posted above. Personally, If I take into consideration both Dana's comments and Sara's comments in the interview I posted, I think Sara probably didn't want the fight at first, wanted to get another fight under her belt. But once Dana implied that people were afraid to step up, she changed her tune. |

When Sara signed with Strikeforce, we agreed that the Rousey-McMann fight could be huge... two Olympic medalists, one in judo, the other in wrestling, and both undefeated. But it made the most sense for the Zuffa publicity machine to get behind Sara and build her up so it was a fight between two stars... not Ronda vs. some chick. McMann has a great story, is very well spoken, and definitely a threat. This fight needs to be built up by the promotion. That was the understanding we had when we signed. Then, all of a sudden, we are getting called out like we were ducking Ronda. Obviously, that isn't the case. Sara's goal in MMA is to fight Ronda... but not until it is a huge fight where both fighters can benefit. |
