Does Penn have the worst cornermen in MMA? They came out with some pearls of wisdom last night! .....'You gotta fucking hit him!'..... No shit! Tell him how!

Yeah, that dude with the sunglasses had meth-intensity to his cheer leading. |

BJ has made a decision to surround himself with yes-men. Ultimately, the blame is his. |

Usually a top fighters team becomes his friends and family, whereas BJ's friends and family became his team. It may be too late now, but i really wish BJ joined a major camp at some point. |

Penn wasnt making technical mistakes, he just gave up, i think his corner was just trying to fire him up. |

wiggum - BJ has made a decision to surround himself with yes-men. Ultimately, the blame is his.This. I made a post on Facebook last night about surrounding himself with inferior yes-men, and no one disagreed.

Penn hasn't been the same since Rudy V left. Remember in the second Edgar fight when Rogan called out BJ's corner for doing exactly the same thing they were doing last night? MMA is not the best arena for not learning from your mistakes. |

Without a doubt. I remember after he'd had the snot thumped out of him by GSP, crawls back to his corner and one of the dudes starts going 'Hey, BJ, listen, you gotta listen. What does let your hands go mean? Huh? What does that mean? Now come on, go beat this guy up, let's go!'
Great advice guys. Thanks.

Pure fighters at heart. You mean they dont know what they are talking about and BJ wants an easy ride so he doesnt get a real coach. |

When I saw the "Road to the Octagon" and BJ Penn made a joke and all of his friends laughed like it was the funniest thing ever, I knew nothing had changed from the time of his GSP fight. |

wiggum - BJ has made a decision to surround himself with yes-men. Ultimately, the blame is his. Harsh but true. He needs a serious managerial makeover. |

crowbar -Both were just cheerleaders. Ken's cornering was epic. He would just say, "now! Do something Guy!"

My guess is that he surrounds himself with yes-men.....So it is not so much that they are bad as it why they were chosen to corner in the first place. |

Silverball - Penn hasn't been the same since Rudy V left."Catch this little cocksucker!" That's great technical advice, if I've ever heard it.

epwar - Precisely this. I cringe every time I hear this type of banter in the pre-fight shows. It works for Mayweather because he has monster work ethic and trainers who know everything about boxing. But if you are someone who has demonstrated a need to evolve and a lack of motivation in the past, the last thing you want is a gaggle of yes-men braying at all your jokes. IMO. |

Its a close race between BJs corner men and Rampage's wolfslair corner men. It's tough to beat that obnoxious "FIND YOUR RANGE!! FIND YOUR RAAAANGE!!!!"
