He almost cleaned out the division.
Possible next challengers:

Pettis if he gets past Cerrone.

Maynard after another win or two.

Lots of fights left, you could easily match him up vs pettis ircerrone..if Aldo moves up you mentioned gray (that would be a hell of a first round) , looks like Gil is coming over sooner rather than later, what if bj decides to go back yo 55? And then there's that timorous that surfaced about a mo th ago that kenflo is como g back. Phone Post

How can you have cleaned out the division when youve only beat one guy other than the guy you took the belt from?  OK, so he beat a couple of contenders on the way through but, Lightweight is the deepest division in the UFC.

Cerrone, Pettis, Maynard, Melendez, Lauzon, even Aldo.  I'm sure there are more Im missing.

Pettis if he wins. if not, maybe the winner of lauzon/miller.

with gray getting injured, he set himself back. a big win over lauzon and he couldve had another shot. too much time will pass before he gets back in the cage.

Gil
Pettis
Cowboy
Lauzon
Maynard
Alverez if he comes over

Thing is Benson seems kind of active. Hes fought every 4ish months (aside from between frankie 1-2)

I dont really see anyone beating Benson at this time Phone Post

Pettis should get the shot if he beats Cerrone. They have unfinished business.

After that Gil or J-Lau if he wins his next fight. Phone Post

I hope Pettis gets the win against Cerrone to set up a epic rematch on Fox.

Pettis is the only one I can see beating him right now. I think it could be similar to the first fight but I bet Bendo goes for more takedowns Phone Post

Pettis, Cerrone, Lauzon, and Maynard are all right there with another win or two. Next shot probably goes to the Pettis/Cerrone winner, although I could see Gil getting it if Cerrone wins Phone Post

Pettis if he wins, Melendez if Pettis loses.
Winner of Bendo v. Pettis/Melendez gets J-Lau

personally, i think Gil deserves an immediate title shot, as the SF champ...

however, the rematch with Pettis would be great....i mean, it produced the "showtime kick" the first time!

You can make the argument Pettis still deserves a title shot for the reasons Gil does too. Phone Post
