Just finished watching Rogan's new comedy special, Live From The Tabernacle. First off, want to say great special. Really funny, can get a bit repetitive if you are big podcast fan, but still really funny. I noticed he credits Dana and the Fertitta brothers as executive producers. Just thought that was random and was wondering if anyone knew what the connection was between joes special and them?

Um, it take money to make those things. Rogan is Zuffa backed all the way. Zuffa was also the backer for "talking monkey in space" that was on Comedy central, they were executive producers for that one as well. Lets not forget that Frank and Lorenzo always get their cut, always. |

Executive Producer credits usually go to people who did not do any production work, but who still were responsible for the production in some way. In this case, I'd guess that they provided financing for the special. |

DevilsAdvocate - It's a zuffa production. What's so fucking confusing?Just curious as to why joe needs financing for a comedy show. Other than filming and editing, what are the other costs of making a comedy special then self releasing it. I get it is a zuffa production, just didn't know why they would produce this. Oh and fuck you.

Filming, editing, finding US distribution, world wide sales, accounting. All the fun shit Rogan rightfully doesn't want to do. |

Also why? It expands their brand as TV producers. |

Rogan said it cost around 100K to make the special. Maybe Zuffa was a financial backer?

Rogan doesn't need the money, so it must be a deal behind closed doors. Maybe Zuffa is advertising it through their PR channels or have contacts Joe wants. Just a guess. |

He clearly states on his website he paid for the production and the editing himself.

I'm sure it was them paying for what it cost to make. From filming and crew to post production. Then letting him keep all the money it brings in. That would be really nice on there end and beneficial to him. I think I'm right he deserves it
