My doctor recommended i use a neti pot because of my allergies. I tried that as well as just a saline spray. I do just what he told me and just like I've seen on videos: Face down and tilt my head. Intead of the water flowing through one nostril and out the other it all just backs out of the nostril I spray/pour it into. Any idea what I'm droing wrong? could something be wrong with my nostrils or sinuses? |

I was recommended the same treatment and it did not work for me either. See if your doctor will refer you to a ear, nose and throat specialist. I finally went to one and found out that I have a bone spur blocking one side and polyps on the other. |

You might have something wrong in your nose like Brian suggested; but it might be worth trying the squeeze bottle style of the nasal saline rinse. I found that it worked much better for me than the traditional neti pot since you can hold your head in a more comfortable position and the tip of the bottle blocks the nostril you squeeze it into so the saline has to flow out the other nostril or into your mouth |

In my experience, the neti pot doesn't have enough force behind it to properly flush out the sinuses. Simply titling the head & letting gravity do the work didn't do the job for me. So, I started using the squeeze bottle which generated enough force to flush the sinuses completely out. There are also sinus rinses in a can that you can use which do the same thing as the squeeze bottle. |

Look up nebulizer. They are air powered mister thingys. High powered air compressor that will reach the upper nasal cavaties. Ex girlfriend was a medical sales rep. |
