hi guys. can anyone recommend specific stretches or exercises that would help me keep limber? i've been feeling a little stiff lately. particularly my lower back. also warmups for the shoulder would help me too. i regularly do calisthenics 3x a week (pullups and pushups) and jump rope or run alternately. i'm 42 and read here that stretching is a must when one is getting older and to prevent injuries. thanks! |

I've found that a lot of my lower back pain disappears when I stretch my hamstrings and keep them limber. Specific stretches for my back, e.g. the cat stretch, seated twists and throwing my legs over my head in an inverted guard/plow position, felt good when I did them, but weren't nearly as effective as when I got more flexible in the hammys. Hope that helps. |
