this came to me when me and 2 buddies were in a magazine store and who is a social work tells the other look at all the mags, all this pressure on girls to be thin or curvy etc that is why girls often starve themselves, etc the other friend who is a personal trainer goes "girls starve themselves because they are fucking lazy" and while the social worker looked stocked i understood that the statement was true proves- while there is more pressure on girls to look good then guys go to any mainstream fitness gym at anytime of the day you will see at least 5-6 guys to every girl and from the girls in the gym(usually european or latin or persian girls,) 6 or 7 out of 10 are reality doing fuck all, like going super slow on cardio machine or lifting 2 pounds weights. they lift super easy 2 pounds because they will say they dont want to look like a bodybuilder lol and on cardio machines, many of them look like they are scared to sweat, lol and if you talk to them, they will always have an excuse why they are doing fuck all lol the only time you may see them working semi hard is in group glasses where again, its easier to work in a group then by yourself and many girls can go to a gym for years and not know anything about working out.... granted some girls do work hard, and usually look awesome and in shape, but they are the minority, because most are too lazy to even to go the gym, and from the ones that do 7 out of 10, are super lazy and bored looking in it |

Buddeh :) I don't even know where to begin... Women and men tend to have different fitness goals. I see more men in the gym than than women, for sure, but I also see more women jogging, doing yoga and pilates than men. ...so are men just lazy too, or do we get fit (traditionally) in different ways??? :) You'll see men doing yoga, and women on the bench press, but for the most part these types and styles of workouts will be dominated by one gender...and I don't see anything wrong with that. Just keep your mind open, and allow everyone to work out in the style that suits them best. ...just my two cents (I actually AM lazy, btw) :) |

Danny Beauclerc - Buddeh :) well in theory your right but in reality it doesnt matter if a girl wants to be fit and a guy to be muscular or whichever my point is that whatever the goal of the girl is why are there 6 guys to every girl in any gym? when i said do a count, i mean the whole gym not just the weight area or cardio area and from the ones that are there most dont work as hard as guys, doesnt matter if they want to look like a bikini model or bodybuilder its not hard to see someone putting in effort in the gym cardio or weights or whatever training facts- there is more pressure on women to look good there is way more guys in any gym then girls so its not hard to say the girl is too lazy to put in real work in the gym so she doesnt eat and lets be honest here, women tend to do classes because its easier to work in a group then by yourself they also prefer to do machines instead of free weights because they are easier i could care less about different fitness goals go to any extreme fitness at 6 pm or whatever do a count you will see 136 guys and 27 women or whatever thusly i am correct here |

Bored at work.. Decided to chime in. Who really cares how anyone else works out?< When you are comparing human beings in any way shape or form (IE: "I work out so hard bro, these girls man, they slack") it is based on your own insecurities and this process is to make yourself feel good about yourself. What you are doing is passing judgement on these people's work out routines as a way to prop yourself up because you are doing it the 'right' way based on your own personal expectations of how someone should work out. These are expectations which vary from person to person depending on the goals they set for themselves. They are trivial - especially in the work out world where someone is always going to be stronger, faster, and in better shape than you. Here's something to think about... When you are in nature.. look at the trees and examine them.. you will see the trees as 'unique' from one another. Some are broken, cracked, bent weird, thick, skinny, different colors etc. You won't really care about what one looks like from the other. Why is it that when most of us look at human beings we don't see them as unique - the same as we see trees. The mind tells us "Thank god I'm not that fat" (if we're in shape), "that guy is so ugly" (if we are good looking, or even if think of ourselves as ugly [again, a projection based on expectations of what 'good looking' is] - etc - to reaffirm our own self worth by comparing those people to ourselves to make us feel good about our own beings. Make no mistake about it, this is insecurity, and if you make comparisons like this, even subtly in your own mind, you are not rid of insecurities and you only have the illusion of confidence. You are one of the pigs in a straw house and anything will blow that som-bitch down - but in your own arrogant, oblivious mind you see yourself as being in the brick house. Someone out there has it better than you. They have better genetics, better workouts, better gains, more drive, more money, a better looking wife, a better sex life and will have better luck than you. If you waste your time comparing your life, your body and your existence to another persons - you are always going to be on the shit end of the stick and lead a very shallow, materialistic lifestyle. In short.. mind your own business and focus on your self development for true fulfillment - or spend your time being an insecure little child who cares about what everyone else is doing instead of reaching his full potential. |

John Nic - i see you have been reading left wing feminist lectures lol just joking but seriously you have some good points but the reality is that one of the reasons people get better at anything is because of "insecurites" and comparing themselves to others. every sport is based on competing and that is all about compelling yourself to others it does not mean you dont think lowly or highly of yourself. now you mention trees and such things but a tree cant change anything about itself, a fat woman can lol now i have no need to compare myself to women, but i think sometimes its good to obsereve things in life and things like starving to be thin has been a big problem for a lot of women and ruined more then one life so while many people in canada are scared to ever say anything politically incorrect, like blaming "the victim" i just see facts and dont care if they are politically correct, myself i am not ok shape, despite working out alot but am i not in super shape, because my diet sucks so thats a fact just like this one..... while there is more pressure on girls to look good then guys go to any mainstream fitness gym at anytime of the day you will see at least 5-6 guys to every girl again there is no need too see if i am insecure or whatever just go do a count at any mainstream gym |
