Mirsad Bektic vs. Nick Macias

Mirsad Bektic (5-0) and Nick Macias (6-2) will meet in a high-stakes featherweight clash at RFA 7 - Thatch vs. Silva on Friday, March 22nd. The bout will be featured on the main card of RFA 7, which will take place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, which is a suburb of Denver, Colorado.

Bektic is one of the prized prospects that the RFA added to its roster last fall, after the organization acquired Titan FC. The following month, the Bosnia native lived up to expectations in front of his adopted Nebraska home crowd at RFA 5. Bektic defeated Doug Jenkins via Unanimous Decision, which improved his record to 5-0. The American Top Team (ATT) standout also went 9-0 as an amateur with his win at RFA 5 being his only fight that went the distance, making him one of the most promising featherweight prospects in the sport. Bektic will now face the biggest challenge of his career in enemy territory.

Bektic will travel to Macias' hometown of Denver, Colorado in what will surely be a crowd pleasing affair. The Factory X Muay Thai fan favorite enters the bout having won 5 of his last 6 bouts, which includes a one-sided pummeling of 50-fight MMA veteran Sean Wilson at RFA 3 last June. Macias eventually secured a fight-ending Rear Naked Choke in the second round and is eager for this big step up in competition, where he will get to face one of the RFA featherweight divisions' elite. The main card of RFA 7 will be televised live on AXS TV starting at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.

I have to say I was not happy Nick lost, but Mirsad is absolutely a rising star (as is Nick) and someone had to lose. Was proud to see Allen Washington and Jeremy Kimball win as I use to train/was on same team as those guys. Very tough guys, very hard workers. You have ignored this user.

303 - Great night of fights. My brother and I went up and sat in the 1st Bank suite. I have to say I was not happy Nick lost, but Mirsad is absolutely a rising star (as is Nick) and someone had to lose. Was proud to see Allen Washington and Jeremy Kimball win as I use to train/was on same team as those guys. Very tough guys, very hard workers.
