Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama are Fire Ant states right? Won't the water make then angry and drive them towards high ground or top of houses? Image be stuck on the roof of you house and being attack by them? Or trying to swim or wade throught floating swamps..

I hate those fucking things. I use to boil water and drop it down their nest. Then I would put the insecticide on them. That would do the trick. |

they are definitely out there. in floods, fire ant nests swarm into a giant moving ball. it keeps them floating, and by shifting position they can get air into their aureciles. if one of those fuckers hits you, you are in a world of pain. killer bees are also probably catching a ride on any floating items.. bump into those and you'll be even worse off, and maybe dead. |

I fell into a fire ant nest once in Alabama when I was a kid. Was sick for a week. |

Boiling water. Pour about 6 gallons of it down their fucking hole. The next day, there will be dead ants littered around the hole (they take out their dead). Lay the insecticide over the top and add water. Fuckers will be gone. (If your neighbor has them, do his yard too). |

Fire ants are a genuine plague. They have decimated the populations of many indigenous species of small ground dwelling animals. |

That's where the last surviving population of the north american ant eater is. |

Not raid. It's some insecticide you get at Home Depot. |

It's been awhile since I lived in Pensacola, so I can not remember what it is. The trick to it is that you need everyone of the block to do it at the same time. I had one neighbor who was lazy and would end up doing their lawn so the fire ants would not move over to mine. |

In parts of Florida, they spray steam down fire ant nests. |

Just make them offerings of sugar and virgins. You must befriend them in order to survive the onslaught. Or just use the poison bat that they bring to the queen as food. The hive/nest then dies. |

Homemade ant bait works, too. Fill a cup halfway with cotton balls. Mix some water with a spoonful or two of sugar and a little boric acid. Pour mixture over the cotton balls. Put a lid on the cup and punch lots of holes in it. Put it near ant nests (keep it away from pets and kids). In a few days, there'll be thousands of ant corpses. |

BTW "poison bat" while sounding all scary and "ant killy" was a typo of "poison bait". |
