Hunting and Fishing Ground >> Hunting for Game?

I want to go out to the countryside and hunt for wild piegons, rabbit, pheasant and whatever else, and then take them home, skin them and eat them. I am a newbie to this, so give me the lowdown OG hunting brethren on doing this. Most importantly the eating part. Thanks. |

There are many resources to learn to cook wild game. The overarching concept, though, is that you can't simply throw it in a pan and expect to have it become a great tasting dish. In my experience, usually wild game takes more care to cook properly. |

Joe Ray - I want to do some of this as well. I'm in the process of tryin to find out where about in Bonnie Scotland I can do this. Fuck paying ?5 for a pack of steroid-laced chicken breats in ASDA when I could be killing feral meats. |

Correct U4EA. Check out the yellow pages under shooting, you'll find some places near to you. Or if it is quality organic reared food you are after check out the farmers markets dotted all over the UK. Aberdeen has one in Belmonte street a few times a month. |

I live in Edinburgh now (although I'll be heading up to that hell city for xmas... 2 days there and I'll be depressed). I think there's a similar type market near Princess street at the weekends. Have you any idea how expensive these places are? Shooting would be great... as long as it's not more expensive than buying it in the shops... |

Yeah but its' alot more fun than buying it in the shops. A mate of mine said he used to shoot rabbits on some guys farm and that the farmer would let people come and shoot them for free because he needed rid of them all. Vermin control sort of. You need a license for a gun before you can do anything however. I might take up clay pigeon shooting to learn. |
