Nothing will demonstrate the cluelessness of the leaves and their "fans" like the story of Larry Murphy. A 1st round draft pick, Murphy started his career with the Kings. He set rookie scoring records for the Kings. As a Cap and North Star, Murphy scored between 60-85 points as a defenseman. As a member of the Pens, he was a tremendous asset to Pittsburgh as they won 2 Cups. He was also selected as an all star multiple times. Then, he was sent to Toronto. lol The horrible leaves and their foul aura sucked the life from a tremendous player. His points and playing time quickly fell. As usual, the clueless leaves and the leaves "fans" made Murphy the scapegoat for their latest excuses. It was his year to take the blame. The leaves fans claim that he is too old, too slow and washed up. He is run out of town on a rail. He then joins the Detroit Red Wings. Larry Murphy quickly regains his form as a smart, stay-at-home defensemen that has brought him so much success in the past. With the Red Wings, he is a member of 2 Stanley Cup winning teams. So, as we look at his career, Larry Murphy has been a champion at every level (He had gone the the Memorial Cup finals both years he was in Peterbrough, winning once). He was an all star, a true leader and valuable addition everytime he stepped on the ice. Except when he was in Toronto. The tradition of losing and poor performance sucked the life out of him. Yet, another obvious example of how the Toronto maple leaves are a pathetic example of hockey and will continue to be that way in the future. lol @ the leaves. Mark |

take a prime Rouse over him, no question. no team won the cup because of Murphy. nothing more than a guy who could compliment a good team, as long as they had competent guys that could cover up his errors. |

Bob Rouse left a far bigger hole on our blueline than Murphy ever did. Rouse was what put your shit team over the top. Murphy was the kind of guy who would put up some points, suck shit defensively, but again if he had guys to cover up for him, because of his pts he would take all the credit, when it's guys like Rouse that quietly go about their business and give you game after game of consistent error free hockey. |

Before leaves = scoring records, All Star and 2 Cups as a leave = booed and made the scapegoat After leaves = 2 more Cups I think it is obvious. It may be great to be a leaves fan, but it sure sucks to be a leave player. Mark |

Players beg not to get traded there." no that would be Pittsburgh, out of their league when it comes to major league sports and on the verge of relocation. dont fool yourself, Toronto is still the most desirable place to play, and it isn't and never will be close. your sad small markets needed a cap because no one wanted to play for you, and Toronto got everyone they wanted, boo hoo. |

Fuck Robocop, I skate better than him ... (though that is not saying much) And Sylvain Lefebvre was the best Leaf D in the last 15 years. Lefebvre deserved the contract that McCabe is getting. |

Kind of funny how you blame Pat Quinn for not using him effectively. Quinn wasn't even coaching when Murphy was a Leaf. |
