Just want some reviews on what everyone thinks about the Mini 14. I have heard good things. I know it's not a tack driver, and i know the barrel heats up quickly. |

I shot him on the run as he passed and hit his rear ribs and then hit his front should/leg joint, dropping him at about 10 yards. I finished him with a shot to the head. I guessed his weight at over 300. I handle a number of hogs in my job as an agriculture teacher, so I believe it is a close estimate. I am going out to try it tonight. I believe I will sit in a sleeping bag. thanks! |

if your wanting a range gun, i wouldnt go with a mini 14...remington 700 .308. a one inch group isnt that great for all the money your going to have to pay for the mini 14. you can customize the remington to have under half inch groups at 100yards.. |

I went with the mini 30, much better bullistics and knockdown power. Shoots a 7.39 round, same as the AK47 |

well the mini 14 is so cheap to shoot though. you can get 1000rnds for under $200. and the .223 has less than 5 inches of drop at 300 yards. |

"I went with the mini 30, much better bullistics and knockdown power" much better ballistics?? no sir. The 7.62x39 has a couple hundred more ft.lbs of energy, that's about it. It drops like a rock. |

then aim high. the mini 30 flip up rear sight sucks. can't believe it too so many years to give it the regular mini 14 sight. stephen |
