Someone please tell me, what's wrong with this picture???...

http://mmaaddicts.com/dann/wec-48-aldo-vs-faber/antonio-banuelos-scott-jorgensen.JPG

Look at Reed's face. Does he look very happy?

Someone please tell, what did he do wrong that all his hard work should now seemingly not get the praise it deserves, and go to Dana White, who will now help the WEC go more mainstream and get more exposure...?

Why should Dana make it look like he will get all the credit!? Is that right?

And what was wrong with the WEC broadcasting crew? Nothing that i could tell.

Their fight announcer? Nothing that i could tell.

i do not get it. Someone please tell me what's wrong with this picture!

The fact that this is a PPV and they have an agreement with Versus for exclusive rights to WEC. SO therefore it has to be billed as a sort of "UFC" event.

That still doesn't fully address the situation.

Reed sold the WEC to Zuffa years ago.  When you sell your company and stay on, you don't stay on as the big boss.  Dana is the big boss now.  That's part of the deal.

I love how Dana's fucking over his business partners with this PPV. Shows what a good guy he is.

http://mmajunkie.com/news/18849/no-wec-no-problem-dana-white-says-missing-logo-all-part-of-master-plan.mma

White has taken over for WEC general manger Reed Harris for the promotion of the event. Bruce Buffer will emcee the event rather than Joe Martinez. UFC broadcasters Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan will handle the play-by-play duties on the evening's pay-per-view broadcast.

"When I took this thing and made it my own personal project, I said from the get-go how we were going to promote this fight," White told
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) following today's pre-event press conference.

Surprisingly, that apparently includes removing the identity of the WEC brand that Zuffa, LLC has worked so hard to build since acquiring the promotion in 2006.

White said it's a price the company had to pay in order to expand the reach of the promotion for this historic event.

"Here's what's happened: I don't know if you guys have noticed, but this thing is everywhere," White said. "It's on Spike TV. The commercials are running on Spike TV. The 'Countdown' show is on Spike TV. It's on MTV2. It's on Versus. It's everywhere. That's how we did it.

"This one's called 'Aldo vs. Faber.' I have a whole plan for this whole thing."

White declined to elaborate further on what that plan would entail, but he admitted it is a new approach for his company.

"In business, you've got to try things, see how it works," White said. "You use what works, and you throw away what doesn't."

I hope Versus has grounds for some sort of legal action.

I still think they should put the main commentator from Versus in with Goldberg and Rogan. Sort of unfair and doesn't do much to establish the brand just using all UFC people.

Yeah, looks like he's throwing Reed and the crew who built the WEC up over the years, right into the trash!
I know Zuffa owns them. And yeah, they've helped them a lot. But that still does not excuse what Dana is doing.

It's business and i know business can be cruel but it's also an outrage!

Just absorb it into the UFC. The UFC brand is so strong it's obviously hurting the WEC brand, so just absorb and bring these lighters weights into the UFC.

If there was ever a photo to perfectly sum up Mr. Harris' role in the WEC, that is it.

If Zuffa didn't buy the WEC,it probably wouldn't be around today. So what's everybody complaining about?

Ok guys...let me explain....  and I have to do this fast cause I'm getting ready to head over to Arco...

First and foremost...I love you guys on the UG..I'm here everyday and don't comment like I used to...but read your threads and actually take a lot of it into consideration as it really is the fans speaking to us.  I love MMA, love the fighters and especially the fans.

In the picture, I'm not sad... thats my "im nervous as hell about these guys making weight" look.  This event is obviously pretty important to me and my nerves were getting the better part of me.

Sean Shelby actually asked me the same thing after the weigh ins...he thought i was pissed.  lol

As you can imagine, this is a big night for us...and so you know, Dana has stepped up and given this thing everything he has,,,and we couldn't be more grateful.  We are a team at Zuffa... all we want is for the event to be as big a success as we know it can be.  Dana helping out has been huge!

As you know, Dana announced the largest fighter bonus's in the history of the company (he wouldn't even tell me prior to the meeting...I was blown away)... you should have seen the fighters faces... I felt pretty emotional as these are guys that have given the WEC everything... and I know in my heart that they will go out there tonight and do what they always do, make us all proud to be able to work with them and know them.

Cheers to all of you on the UG...  I hope you watch. And thanks for the support...it means a lot to me.

Reed

No Reed...thank YOU (and Dana, and the fighters), for making the WEC the most exciting event in all of MMA!

...and i'm just glad i was wrong. ;p

It's just that the WEC has become my favorite event and you can imagine that it seemed like Dana was making selfish moves. I'm not a business expert (obviously), but i just didn't want to see you guys get screwed.

Sorry, i get so emotional too often.

i just hope these great cards do not end either!

Thanks again, Reed!

JERRY: Hey, Ray, listen, you really did a tremendous job cleaning that apartment.

RAY: But I didn't just clean your apartment. It was a ritual, a ceremony, a celebration of life.

JERRY: (Joking about his personality) Shouldn't you be out on a ledge somewhere?

(i dont know why this scene always comes to mind when i read your posts)
