Never one to take my time at anything… I am fighting again November 20th at UFC123! This time, it will be against George Sotiropoulos. George is 6-0 in the UFC and 13-2 overall. His two losses have come from a DQ over a groin strike and a split decision loss.

George is a monster with impressive wins over Kurt Pellegrino and Joe Stevenson. He has good boxing and REALLY slick Jiu-Jitsu. He uses a lot of rubber guard from the bottom and is absolutely relentless from the top with his passing. I think he is going to be bigger than me as well, as he was on The Ultimate Fighter at 170 before dropping down to 155.

While I am sure I will be the underdog going into this one, I like how my skills match off with George’s. There has been talk about George getting a title shot in Australia if he wins his next fight, but I am going to throw a wrench in those plans. I’m the underdog, with an uphill battle coming and big plans for the other guy after he beats me… but I am good at ruining those kinds of plans. Getting some Deja Vu of the Jens Pulver fight camp already.

I had a great camp last time out which I have been building on. I was fortunate enough to come out of the fight with Gabe without a scratch on me, so I was right back into the gym hitting it hard a week after the fight. I didn’t really lose anything and could fight tomorrow if needed. I am just working to keep my output up and keeping everything sharp. This is like the 9th straight month I have been in fight camp and I have been building with every session.

I’m still lifting with Kyle at MBSC and boxing as usual. I worked a lot of Jiu-Jitsu with Abmar for the last fight but have also started working out with some other guys as well. The last couple days have been 4 sessions a day and I am just killing it in training.

The UFC countdown show is coming out to film today… so you will hopefully get to see some of the stuff I have been doing. Train Hard, Win Easy.

Be sure to follow my twitter to keep up on my training and everything else.

Man, this is an exciting matchup and sure to be great fight. Only thing I dislike about the fight is that I like you both and would like to see you both won. Any chance you guys can do one of this double knockouts? Phone Post

Best of luck to you Joe. You're the man. I think you've got an excellent chance.

It's going to be tough for George to work subs when he's eating elbows.

WAR JOE.

George was KO'd cold by Tom Speer on the bottom and in deep trouble late after getting dropped by Pellegrino, he can be had on the feet.  Good luck Joe.

Your recollections of the Pelligrino fight are a bit blurred. George was in command of that fight from start to finish. Anybody can be had, as you put it, however, George is on a roll, ths is his time and he will be Australia's first UFC belt holder.

If you come out with the same fire you did against Gabe, no can defend.

Your grappling is (or at least WAS) damn good too, so I think you can stalemate it on the ground if you get in trouble.

Good luck, this should be a super technical fight.

George was in trouble late in that fight...there is no denying that.  He did a great job grappleraping Pellegrino, but Pellegrino is not known for his hands and had George in trouble late in that fight.

Did you say you are training 4 sessions a day? My body can barely make it through one. I don't see how George could be training as hard as you are.

Good luck in November, Joe. I'm sure you will show up ready to fight and prove the critics wrong again.
