Now that fight would make a lot of sense from a divisional, stylistic, and scheduling standpoint. Cerrone is higher than Guillard in the pecking order, but IMO he has no business fighting for the title after another win. He got beat down by Diaz too recently.

Maynard makes much more sense for Pettis' next opponent in a number one contender match, because Gray doesn't seem to be chomping at the bit to get back into the cage ASAP, Pettis will be on the shelf until at least late September, if not October, winner would have to wait for a title shot like Diaz, and some people think Pettis doesn't match up with wrestlers because they only saw or remember his most recent fight with a primary wrestler. I'd love to see Pettis/Maynard added to UFC 152 if possible.

Going to suck.

You people think Cerrone is going to stand and bang to prove a point? You're out of your fucking mind.

Cerrone will stay the fuck away, close the distance and submit Melvin.

Any other hint at any other outcome and you're officially off your meds.

He's got to get him down first. Cerrone isn't the best wrestler and Guillard has solid TDD. When he's gotten taken down it's often a response to some reckless strike. If the fight goes to the ground, it's pretty much over. Camoes got wild with an armbar attempt at the end of round 3 when he had Guillard mounted otherwise he might have beaten him. But Cerrone has to get it to the ground for the clear path to victory, and it's a legit question if he'll pull it off. I'd bet on him though.

Source pls?

Strong trolling job with everyone bitin, as sick of a dream match it would be, Cerrone and Guillard are old training partners and still friends. I know they've both said they'd fight anyone if it was for a title, but this isn't that.

The OP IS the source.

If you don't know who Saucy is you need to delete your account and go back to Sherdog.

Cerrone all day IMO. Couldnt be a worse stylistic matchup for Melvin.

That's not a counter-point though. You didn't speak about Cerrone's wrestling at all.

And fact is, Cerrone is very inconsistent with his fight I.Q. He fought stupid against Varner, then he fought smart against Varner, then he fought stupid against Kelly, then he fought smart against Rocha, then he fought stupid against Diaz, then he fought smart against Stephens. No telling which Cerrone enters on a given night at this point.
