So you say you hate the stand and wang but call tonight's fights boring as fuck? And how does whether or not you have been knocked out or submitted add validity to your opinion on the business side of fighting? Sounds like a sour grapes rant. Phone Post 3.0

I'm a fan, and agree with Mayhem on some points.  It would be cool if he could not post n' ditch his thread but answer some of the questions from the UG.  I mean, he knows well enough that he's gonna get support and hate starting a thread like this- man up, take the bad with the good.

Welcome back mm =)

Just a quick question.
What do you mean by

'and a UFC record of 0-3. The men in UFC were never stronger than men i fought around the World, just the circumstances in which i fought them were more Extreme.'

What do you mean by extreme? Pressure or big lights or management etc??? Phone Post

Mr. Miller, as I am a complete stranger and a person you will never meet, nor would I like to meet

you tbh. You have a complex when dealing with structure be it at work or in your personal life,

being that you have a immature, rude, and wild personality, it's hard for you to play by the rules.

You need to stop blaming your short comings on other people, see your faults for what they are and

grow up. Stop yelling at people in public for attention, stop thinking that you can act

just because you don't give a fuck of what people think of you! What, you think people can't see how

sad you are?

>OH! LOOK AT ME I'M THE WILD MAN, I'M IN MY MID-THIRTIES AND ACT LIKE A NINE YEAR OLD!!!

>I'M SO EDGY IT HURTS...

MayheM -

Dana White has killed the sport that you and i love. The refusal to build stars. The reward for standing and wanging. THE UNIFIED RULES, have all killed the sport of mixed martial arts. I come to you humbly, as a student and teacher of the mixed martial arts. A man that has never tapped out, or been knocked out in mixed martial arts competition and ask that you do not support a corporate monarchy that favors a mark in the Win column, over showcasing the ART of MMA.

Obviously, it behooves those with an interest in gambling on Ultimate Fighting to know who will most likely win and most likely lose a UFC match, so the current structure will remain until YOU, the Fan demand that these forces stop controlling Mixed Martial Arts.

I am Mayhem Miller, so i am well aware of what it is like to live on the opposite end of the coorporate power structure, with a lifetime record of 52-8-1 and a UFC record of 0-3. The men in UFC were never stronger than men i fought around the World, just the circumstances in which i fought them were more Extreme.

As a fan. I urge you...

When the next Big Thing hits, jump aboard-because with PPV sales slipping since 2009, and the executives at Fox watching these boring fights, if you are still a Dana shill, you are polishing the brass on the Cubicle Captain's Titanic. Don't let him kill our sport. I love it too much.

Sincerely,

The Mayhem Monkey

Jason Mayhem Miller

Failure to build stars is what I've been preaching.

Yes, the UFC risks leverage at the bargaining table when you let a fighter get bigger than the brand BUT in order for the brand to get bigger you must have stars.

Back around UFC 100 the UFC could have booked Lesnar to jerk off on a stool and done 750K buys.

That era is over.

Pro wrestling was fire hot in the late ' 90s and WWE and WCW drew nothing but money everywhere. Austin 3:16, NWO, etc.

Fast forward to today and while WWE is doing well, it isn't like when they had a restaurant, t shirts in every store, shows on MTV and high school kids wore their merchandise.

The UFC hit the jackpot a few years ago when every dude was wearing Affliction or TapouT but they also had guys like Brock and Chuck which made everyone order fights.

Today it's fast becoming a bunch of generic, interchangeable guys who all look the same, have the same jack-of-all-trades skillsets and the cards for each PPV feature the bulk of fighters who couldn't draw a crowd in any mall nationwide. Phone Post

When Dana White is a more known face than guys in the main event picture; you aren't promoting correctly.

Demetrious Johnson, Benson Henderson and Chris Weidman are great.

But a shot Ken Shamrock did more business on Spike vs Tito for the 3rd time than these guys can do combined.

Shamrock was a name, Ortiz was a name and a star.

Today we lack names and stars that transcend the sport as Jon Jones is the most gifted but he can't draw like Lesnar did.

People need to care about who is fighting more than just that it's a UFC event for this to grow beyond where it is currently. Phone Post

I've enjoyed your fights but I 100% disagree from a fans perspective the sport is still young and growing fast and only getting better because of UFC and company and organizations like bellator , and even smaller shows like invicta that are growing ...

I think you should stop worrying about Dana and worry about yourself and try an reclaim the passion for the sport you competed in and gave more than most on this forum ...

I believe even if someone like me and many others disagree it shouldn't deter you from trying to make a change by starting something like a petition to the athletic commissions and the ABC ... Make a website ...

Pretty much agree, there just arent as many huge names per division.

But they also could do with a little variety, ita why people loved pride, crazy fights and the odd mismatch.

Tournament would be nice too.

To br fair to the ufc whem they tey and keep exciting brawlers who are on a skid like hardy and garcia they get shit from fans. Cant have it both ways. Phone Post

I remember the first time I saw the original GIF with Cody McKenzie ,it literally made me LOL.

Then when I first saw this one during a live show IIRC, it damn near killed me because I was laughing so hard....it totally caught me off guard....and to this day, it still gets at least an audible giggle out of me.

But.....my favorite version of this is now the Wallid Ismail version of it. I'm looking for it and striking out. It's gold! Phone Post

Whilst I agree mostly with what you say in regards to star power, I'm sure you will agree that promoting a fighter will only take them so far if people don't connect with them. It is possible we are in a lull so to speak in terms of having a lesnar, chuck or a Tito. I think having the big star name is big business for the UFC at PPV obviously but also in bringing in the casual fan. Guys like us know the talent that the lesser draws have but as stated at the start of my post you can promote the hell out of somebody but its ultimately the big names that fans want. Phone Post 3.0
