This movie will be awesome. Thor: The Dark World is a great title that made me think it would be a heavily fantasy movie, and seems like it will be. Christopher Eccleston has been cast as Malekith.

Always a great add to a film.

Eccleston is awesome, wish he would have been the Doctor for more than one year.

It will be interesting the direction they decide to take with Malekith. The last thing I read with him was the Walt Simonson run on Thor ages ago.

With the Man of Steel gauranteed to have ridiculous feats, im hoping that they amp up the awesome for Thor in this one.

Alger Hiss - Malekith means we will get Kurse? Maybe?
Yes! And you know, Kurse once fought Power Pack....who were just brought back recently into the comic fold....
My prediction is a Power Pack movie within 3 years, entirely predicated on Alger Hiss' post.
Just you wait and see.

Ive been wondering what direction theyll go in this film.
We seen Thor learn humility and weve seen him learn what destruction that can be caused by those misusing power. so we shouldnt get a rehash of the cocky thor or fish out of water thor. although hollywood loves to try and play it safe by recreating what worked in previous films. I think the next logical step for thor is for him to find out that he cannot save everyone, no matter how hard he tries. and even though he is a God capable of shaping these worlds in his vision, there is value in struggle and overcoming your own hardships.
Im kinda hoping that this film loosely follows the king Thor story arc, where he interfers too much with the happening of humankind and has to learn that he cannot save everyone, nor should he.
Perhaps if he headed to one of the other realms in peril as a savior of sorts, becoming the god king with jane tagging along. she could loosely play the role of jake olson, telling thor that he is messing up the balance of the realm because the beings there rely on him too much. Jane could assume the fish out of water role.
his adversity there could be Malekith and Skruge. and at the end of the day he finds that its the people must rise against them and he cannot solve all problems as thier god savior and they must also help themselves.
IDK, Just typing out loud. i just hope they give us a solid story and we dont get an Ironman 2 level let down.

Kenneth Brannangh did a great job. Not sure it will be as epic without him
On the flip side, Supes has Zack Snyder AND Nolan. That would be hard to mess up unless egos clash

Thats a pretty excellent team. You got the great attention to story telling from Nolan and the hyper stylized special fx of Snyder.
JMS was credited as writer on Thor, im wondering if hes involved in the new one.

Yeah that's how I see it. Plus a Brit playing the lead. No can defense

Snyder is terrible imo. Watchmen was ok but almost entirely because most of the work was already done for him by Moore/Gibbons. Everything that stood out as something Snyder did, sucked. The only thing I really liked from him was Dawn of the Dead; since then he's fallen entirely in-love with slow-mo and greenscreen sets.
Sucker Punch is one of the worst movies ever.

Watchmen and 300 were great visually, which is very important to a Superman film. With Nolan to ensure the script is good, I am not concerned

Sucker Punch had cool ass action sequences but they in no way made up for the terrible plot. How do you fuck up hot chicks playing whores and giant samurai's? Damn.
I thought 300 was alright and The Watchmen had some great homage to the comic. If Snyder can just pull off a decent rehashing of the origin with some awesome action, I'll be content. I mean, it couldn't be worse than Green Lantern or Superman Returns, right? Not with Nolan on board.
Zods the bad guy and it's played by the dude with the modok face. That's reason enough to be optimistic imo.
