Sacramento based fighter James Irvin has suffered another massive setback in his oft-injured career, this time with a massive knee injury.
He will obviously not be able to face Wilson Gouveia at UFC 102.
Irvin is expected to undergo reconstructive surgery sometime in the next few days, and is also expected to miss 6-10 months.

That is such a shame. Irvin has been without a paycheck for this long? I hope his sponsorships are treating him well. I also hope he really focuses on technique and comes back a better fighter.

his family owns a construction business that he either worked for or still works for. not sure if he still does but that was his job, working for the family business, before UFC.

Dawkins - I dunno can you still be trusted with news? Get well soon "Sandman"
Fuck off!! So , just because Vadim says the offer wasn't true you believe him! Personally I would trust Dave and his "source" more than Vadim and co any day. Personally I dont see what is so outlandish with the deal Fedor was offered.

one of the few fighters in the sport where every time he fights you know someone is getting ko'd. I'd watch a Sandman fight any day.
His highlight reel KO of Terry Martin is stil one of the best ever.

Dawkins - If you really believe Fedor turned down a 30 million dollar offer then you are one gullible dude.
Kindly explain why the offer wasn't 6 and 30 because folks don't seem to want to step up to the plate.
I have no idea if the offer was legit but the math makes sense...if all 6 fights draw the PPV numbers folks are guessing is required to max out the PPV percent, around the UFC 100 purchases, that's
well over $200M in gross revenue. The headliner for all of those events would certainly justify $30M. Even if you give Vadim's camp credibility, their claims are not inconsistent with this type of contract. A 3 fight minimum for just under $300K show money is hardly inconsistent with a contract that could also maximize out at 6 fights and $30million.
If 6 and 30 is a gullible proposition, surely you have a good evidence why, right?
