Shooto

Don't know what to think....

About 6 months ago I was approached by Shooto informing me that there will be a Vale Tudo Japan 2012 on Xmas Eve. They asked me if it would be a possibility for me to fight but I declined knowing they couldn't pay me enough let alone pay for a credible opponent for me.
I'm already 45 years old and pretty much retired so since I never officially retired, I suggested to them, maybe instead of a fight, I could have a retirement ceremony instead. Since my carrer was made in the Vale Tudo
Japan ring with epic fights with Randy Couture and Frank Shamrock, I felt a 10 count would be appropriate there. They were estatic and told me that they were honored that I would choose their to do it in their ring. They also told me that the Vale Tudo Japan and Shooto wouldn't be what it is today without Enson Inoue? I appreciated their words and I was excited to finally close the door to my fighting carrer and move on.

So I called my parents and they told me that they would love to be there for it and asked me to to let them know when it was set. Shooto seemed very excited so I told my parents that it is an 80% chance that it will happen so they booked their tickets.

Then, to my surprise, I wasn't contacted by Shooto for 2 months. So I called them 3 times asking them for a commitment explaining to them that my parents needed to plan their trip. They told me that they haven't decided but they will contact me as soon as they set it. Again I let them know that a prompt reply would be appreciated so my parents can plan their trip. Another month passed with no reply. So called them once again a bit irritated this time and that's when they finally told me that
they were swaying for my retirement ceremony to be in the Shooto ring instead of the Vale Tudo ring. I disagreed telling them my most memorable fights were in the Vale Tudo ring but they seemed to want it in the Shooto ring.

Don't get me wrong, my World Title is the Shooto Belt but the Vale Tudo ring holds much more prestiege and meaning to me. I was kind of bummed that they wanted my ceremony to be in a smaller ring but I understood.

2 and a half more months passed and absolutely no contact from Shooto. It really wasn't decided 100% but because there was no contact I assumed that my retirement ceremony wasn't going to be in the Vale Tudo ring. Now since my parents already booked their trip, they decided to come up anyway to spend Xmas and New Years in Japan.

However, for Xmas I wanted to do something special and since my heart is into helping the people of North Japan, I decided to make a Xmas trip up North to deliver Xmas cakes to the displaced families that couldn't afford it. The impact I wanted would be much bigger if it was done on Xmas Day and I figured that there wouldn't be a better way ro spend a Xmas. So I organized a trip to pick up the Xmas Cakes on the 24th and head up North so the cakes could be delivered first thing Xmas morning. The Vale Tudo event slipped my mind due to the lack of contact by Shooto and because my mind was so occupied with preparation for the Xmas mission.

Now, last night, 2 and half months after my last contact with them, Shooto calls me out of the blue, past midnight, 2 days before the Vale Tudo event assuming that I'm coming, telling me they have V.I.P. seats for me.

I was blown away! Who the fuck said I was even going... and if they wanted me to attend, it would have been nice to know a little bit more than 2 days in advance. They know I'm a fricken busy guy and that everyday in my schedule is used to it's fullest.

Now to change my plans to attend this event the Xmas mission would have to be cancelled. Too much preparation and money went into this Xmas mission and my heart is already set on it. I feel bad not being able to attend but what do they expect. I feel disrepected and all responsible needs to man up to their irresponsible actions.

I'm NOT going to the event V.I.P. seats or not! Respect will be given to whomever is worthy! Currently, Shooto is not worthy to have my respect!

Respect All...... Fear None!

December 28th

Met with Inspirit's Mr. Sugita and he bowed down and whole heartedly appologgized for the dsrespectful treatment to me and because he was man enough to face me face to face I accepted his appology 100%.

As for Sustain's Sakamoto.... as far as I'm c
oncerned he has no gut and will soon have to face up to me in person. I can't respect someone who thinks he's over others especially when he isn't. I hope he reads this so he knows exactly how I feel.
If you're reading this, Sakamoto, face up to your mistakes or suffer the harder more severe consequences... You are one lucky MF that you are not dealing with the " Old Enson"

See you in person soon you gutless boy and until then you can suck my ......

Billy Joe Rottoncrotch - I wouldn't fuck with Enson Inoue.

I just wouldn't do it.

It's a bad career move in the business of life.

I'm sooooo sorry for the BS sir, but the fact that true MMA fans around the world KNOW you are a fearless legend of the sport who fought MUCH bigger men then yourself (and will always remember you as such) is what matters the most!

I hope that helps make you feel better, often the truth helps!

Enson, with what you know about Japanese fight promotions, would you be willing to vocally call for a Japanese athletic commission to be established to oversee MMA and wrestling?

Pretty awesome way of putting it. Enson is just one of the TRUE characters that always made mma SPECIAL.

Enson: I have a question for you. I have a friend from work (she's originally from Korea) and a friend of hers works/used to work for NHK in Japan. That friend quit and went back home to Korea and told my friend that the Gov't is lying to everyone and there are horrible radiation problems in Japan mostly with the food supply.

Is my friend's friend paranoid, looking for an excuse to go back home or is shit fucked up?

Appreicate the info!

Ahhh enson inoue, from the days when fighters were actually fighters, fought anyone, and feared no one. I miss the warrior spirit.

Quick Enson story he probably doesn't remember. Relatively early in my promoting career Enson's brother fought a heated rival Marcelo Tiger. The fight ended in a DQ and a mini riot. Such a crazy scene I asked an HPD officer to stay with me as I had a large amount of cash to pay fighters. About 15 minutes after the show Enson approached me rather heatedly and said he and I NEEDED to have a "talk" back stAge. I was concerned I didn't do enough to keep the ring secure and he was going to "talk to me" about it. The cop immediately looked at me and asked if I wanted him to join me. I thought for what seemed like a minute and told him no. I figured I better go take my punishment like a man. After a very long walk back stage Enson just had some question for me about the rules and payment! Phew! Phone Post
