"I think Shields knows what he's in there with," Lawler said. "I don't think he would have taken the fight not knowing what kind of fighter I am. I think he thinks he can nullify me, and I just need to be ready."

"I'm a strong fighter, we'll see when we get in there, when we lock horns."

Strikeforce is full of guys that couldn't cut it in the UFC.While there are definitely some exciting match ups, i think generally they are made up of lower calibre fighters.Rashad is the LHW champion fighting the no. 1 contender Machida.Matt Hughes is one of the greatest of all time fighting a former champion in Matt Serra.Sherk is a former LW champion, fighting a top contender. Then you have a whole bunch of guys in Strike force that outside of the main event, are not top 10 in the world in any weight class. And i don't include Overeem as a top 10 heavyweight until i see the results of his piss tests after this fight. While Strikeforce certainly has some excellent matchups (and i will DEFINITELY be watching the card), it is certainly not 'a better card'.

I don't know many people who can break down an opponent the way Robbie can. He may not say it in public, but he always has a very strategic gameplan going into his fights. He just hates trash talk and all the hooplah and finds no point in disrespecting anyone who gets in there and actually fights. I see this as a bad fight for Shields. Not because I don't like him or anything, just that Robbie is a big ol boy with a ton of power and the takedown defense to keep this one his feet and hurt Jake badly. Robbie doesn't just hurt people, he destroys them. And those are other 85lbers.

I think most likely Robbie knocks Jake out in DEVASTATING fashion. Robbie can wrestle too so Jake should have a hard time getting him there Jake has that awesome ground game but his standup is nowhere near robbies. Bad fight for jake imo

The way Shields looked against Daley - I have to favor Robbie. Lawler hits hard, is durable, stops the takedown well, and is more well rounded. Unless he gives up the takedown going for broke, I think he wins this fight 8 out of 10 times.

If you bring price into the equation you could say it's a better value than UFC - that does not make it a better card.
