Rory..... I think Brian has punching power don't get me wrong. However, Takeya Mizugaki and Manny Tapia are the top of the heap when it comes to striking in the bantamweight division. Damacio Page and Charlie Valencia are very tough, but they're in the caliber of Maeda or Mizugaki. Look at Miguel's resume. It's very impressive, and he knows what its like to be in a war. I feel Bowles will come in great shape, be very determined, have a great training camp, but will not have the answers to deal with someone of the ability of Miguel Torres. Miguel is far superior in mainly every aspect with the exception of wrestling. His striking is relentless almost savage like, and his cardio is on another planet. On the ground, Torres is a virtuoso. The only flaw if you can even call it that is his wrestling. I know Bowles' wrestling is solid, but is he going to be able to pass the guard of Torres. Don't think so. Down the line if Miguel decides, Brian may be the kingpin at 135.  Until then, it will be the division Miguel Torres dominates. It'll be an entertaining fight, but Miguel will prevail in the end. The fans will be rewarded with a compelling matchup.

You're correct...it was pointless indeed. He just looks like a nice kid. I hope he wins in impressive fashion, fwiw.

I will ignore the comment from Old noob because it is pointless. I would like to address Ray though. I agree that Miguel can take a punch and is tough as hell, but how do you know what kind of power Brian brings to the table? It was apparently enough power to drop Charlie Valencia twice and finish him with a RNC and it was enough to drop Galvao as well. It also appeared to be enough to cause two great stand up fighters like Page and Ribierio to shoot bad shots and get choked out. What do I know about Brian's punching power and boxing ability though? I can't wait for this fight.

Bowles looks like a guy that bags groceries at Publix. Not very intimidating for some reason.
