An earlier report from Kevin Iole that Tamdan McCrory would be returning to the UFC seems to have been inaccurate. McCrory recently lost a split decision to John Howard at UFC 101 and was 3-3 in the UFC.

The article, referencing remarks Dana White made directly to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, seem to have been misinterpreted by the writer. 

A representative for McCrory was contacted by UFC matchmaker Joe Silva to refute the story. It seems that the story was not an exact representation of the conversation between White and Iole, but seemingly an honest misinterpretation.

As it stands, McCrory will not have his next fight inside the UFC octagon, but has been fielding offers from other organizations and may start to work his way up to the middleweight division.

As of this article, Yahoo Sports has not published a retraction or update.
