Message from Joker

by Michael Guymon | source: The UG

Let me start off by saying I'm sorry. I'm sorry and ashamed of my actions. NO, I was not under the influence of any drugs or steroids. People close to me know I would never touch that stuff. I have always been a clean kid....

I have been hiding behind my smiles and jokes for many years. Over the years the stresses of fighting, family, business, and coaching has built up into the mother of all meltdowns. I did try to commit suicide that day and thanks to my wife and Jim Amormino I'm here today. From that point the Sheriff's took me to the hospital where doctors and psychologists could help me and analyze my situation.  They say everything happens for a reason and  I believe that because I am alive today and now realizing that I need help and would've never reached out for help without having hitting rock bottom and being forced to.

I just got home and from here I'm going to hang low and relax and take one day at a time.  Thank you everybody for your support.  This has been a very hard time for me.  I love my students and my friends and my family.  I love you all.

Thanks for listening,

Dude, I don't know you personally but I do know that what does not kill you makes you stronger. It's the actions you take after times of duress that make you who you are. Remember whats REALLY important and you'll be ok. -Respectfully Dave

Exactly,It's been over a week (about Joker's memory span, LOL) and he's doing good, eating Sushi and back to not knowing how to use his Blackberry (triple posting etc.) More importantly, I think that this was a wake up call for all of us. Many have been feeling pressure and have had there breaking moments. The fact that this bad day happened to A Guy who seems to be on top of the world and lights up a room when he enters (just by his presense) is proof that there are many times when a lot of us need to take a break or slow down and talk to the people who care. I know that when this happened, Joker was so concerned that he may have let down his friends (which he didn't) but like he said everything happens for a reason. One of the positives (reasons) that will come out of that bad day is for all of us who care and the many that look up to Joker is when to say I need to slow down and releave some pressure. We are all human, even Joker! * scratches head *
